The cigarette epitomizes the revolutionization of the capitalist mode of production in the 20th century: the industry pioneered the mechanization of labor, the formation and organization of large corporations, marketing and distribution, the globalization of business, lobbying, and probably also the disinformation of consumers. And so the series “Non-Stop Profit“ stands for the illusion of a sense of freedom, therefore us, the cowboys of the 21st century, who submit as dependent and sickly hostages to the hyper-capitalist exploitation systems and subordinate ourselves to the strokes of genius of the worldly authorities.

Die Zigarette ist Inbegriff der Revolutionierung der kapitalistischen Produktionsweise des 20. Jahrhunderts: die Zigarettenindustrie war Vorreiter in der Mechanisierung der Arbeit, in der Bildung und Organisation großer Konzerne, im Marketing und Vertrieb, in der Globalisierung des Geschäfts, im Lobbyismus und vermutlich auch in der Desinformation der Konsumenten. Und so steht die Serie “Non-Stop Profit“ für die Illusion eines Freiheitsgefühls, also uns, den Cowboys des 21. Jahrhunderts, die wir uns heute als abhängige und kränkliche Geiseln unseren hyperkapitalistischen Ausbeutungssystemem fügen und den Geniestreichen der weltlichen Obrigkeiten unterordnen.
